About will

Will Lopez is a professional musician, producer, and recording engineer based in Frederick, MD. He has worked for over a decade as a live and studio recording technician, running sound for internationally touring acts throughout the DMV area. Outside of the studio, he has performed across the country with several nationally recognized artists, such as American Idol contestant Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Annapolis based reggae rock band Bumpin Uglies, and Baltimore based ska punk band Stacked Like Pancakes. He has been a part of numerous national tours, including a run with California-based ska band Save Ferris, and a run on the Vans Warped Tour. Will holds a degree in Music Education from Shepherd University, and has studied under some of the finest musicians in the United States, including Jeremy Koch on saxophone, Dave Marsh on bass, Ronnie Younkins on guitar, and Kurtis Adams for jazz and improvisation.

Currently, Will performs with reggae rock band Bumpin Uglies, Mastersword (a Legend of Zelda themed power metal band) and Rock Pop band Overthoughts, in addition to his numerous solo projects. He instructs a private studio of students from all over the country via Zoom, in addition to in person lessons.

In his free time, Will enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking, running, sailing, and just generally traveling the world with his dog Camino. His favorite book is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, his favorite movie is The Grand Budapest Hotel, and he doesn’t have a favorite color.
